Rails to Trails

 

When I got my bike in August of 2013 I knew that I'd be seeking out opportunities to ride some of the many Rails to Trails Trails!  Rails to Trails are old railway lines that have been abandoned and turned into recreational path for biking, rollerblading, walking, etc.   There are hundreds of trails all over the nation so I'm just going to list them as I ride them.

Virginia Creeper Trail, Virginia

• 4.17.14  - Up from Damascus to Whitetop Station and down.
• 4.2.15 - Abingdon to Damascus & back

East Bay Bike Path, Rhode Island

• 7.5.14 Rode the whole thing!

Presidential Rail Trail, New Hampshire

• 7.15.14 Random Spot Near 115 to Gorham 

Island Line Rail Trail, Vermont

•  7.25.14 All except the last mile or so

West River Trail, Vermont

• 7.27.14 About 2 miles RT from Jamaica State Park 

Norwottuck Rail Trail, Massachusetts

•   7.28.14 Nothampton to Almost Amherst

Michelson Trail, South Dakota

• 6.30.15 Hill City to Custer
